What it's really all about...

What Culinary Stars of the Bay Tasting Extravaganza is really all about is...
Generosity
A Good Time for a Great Cause
Extraordinary Vendors
and a Taste of Summer...

Years ago, as I look through the archives, I see that the Junior Alliance conceived of and created the Taste of Summer event that really brought everyone out to play for the first "picnic" of the summer social season. Culinary Stars is the evolution of that event, and makes a huge impact on what is possible for Lincoln Children and the programs that support them.

This year, as was true for everyone of the eighteen previous events, the TASTES of summer are provided by the bay area's best culinary stars that are both new to the area and those old favorites that make our region what is to those who love food, wine, spirits and song.

This year some old favorites are each offering an exclusive Dinner For Six that features an extraordinary 6 course dinner with wine pairings prepared by the executive chefs at Horatio's, Kincaid's and Skates on the Bay.

Skates on the Bay in the Berkeley Marina will offer a 6 course dinner with wine pairings specially created for a guest list of six by Executive Chef Peter Dominguez. This event will be auctioned as part of the live auction event at the VIP and Celebrity Reception that starts at 6pm.

On the block opposite this exquisite offer will be a similar 6 course meal with wine pairings prepared especially by Executive Chef Doug Braun at Kincaid's Bayhouse at Jack London Square and a third meal for six offered by Executive Chef Ryan Karsten at Horatio's on the San Leandro Marina. The value of these offers is $850/seating of 6.

"We hope to inspire a bidding war between the supporters of each restaurant--and to have some special recognition for the restaurant that wins the war," says Nathaniel Foster, Development Manager for Lincoln Child Center. "All three have been long time supporters of Lincoln and all the money raised goes to support our kids and the programs that serve them."
